Is the Traverse a safe SUV for my family? Absolutely! The Traverse has a number of safety features designed to keep you and your passengers safe. Some of the standard safety features are automated emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist. AEB uses sensors to monitor the vehicle surroundings and will automatically apply the brakes to avoid obstacles when a possible collision is detected. The lane departure technology uses a camera to monitor the road markings and will alert or take steps to keep the vehicle in the lane if the system detects drifting. Adaptive cruise control is also available to automatically maintain a safe gap between you and the vehicle in front when using cruise control.
