1. 6.6L V8 Engine Options
There are two different 6.6L V8 engine options for the new Silverado 2500 HD. The standard is a 6.6L V8 gas engine that puts forth 401 HP at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. The available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine that produces 470 HP at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm with a maximum towing capacity of 22,070 pounds on the 2500 crew cab model.
2. Allison 10-Speed Automatic Transmission
No matter which engine you go with, the Silverado 2500 comes with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission for flawless acceleration. This transmission has Tow/Haul mode to reduce shift cycling and provide better control when trailering large loads. The Allison 10-speed automatic transmission also comes with auto-grade braking that downshifts when necessary to reduce brake wear.
3. Trailering Package
The new Chevy Silverado 2500 comes with a complete trailering package that has a convenient combination of features to support all of your towing projects. This includes:
