The 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD has a lot to commend it, including your choice of two powerful engines, lots of towing and hauling capacity, and the ability to choose trims and cab and bed configurations to make it everything you want it to be. Here are just three highlights we love.

All That Power

Whatever your needs and preferences, you can get it in 3500. Choose from the basic, stripped-down work truck trim and go all the way up to the fully loaded High Country: either way, you can choose from two- or four-wheel drive and one of two powerful engines.

The gas engine that comes standard gives you 464 pound-feet of torque and 401 hp. It’s a 6.6L V8, and it’s paired with an Allison automatic transmission with 10 speeds. Then, you have the Duramax diesel 6.6L V8. This one has the same transmission and also gets you a lot more power at 975 pound-feet of torque and 470 hp. Both give you auto-grade braking and come with a tow/haul mode.

With all that power, you can carry quite a lot. If you get the gas engine, you get the option for the maximum payload capacity, which is 7,237 pounds with the right configuration. For the ultimate in towing capacity, you will want the diesel engine, which can tow up to 36,000 pounds. The max towing with the gas engine is 19,080 pounds.

Incredible Upgrades

Whether you’re talking about the inside or the outside, there are all kinds of upgrades to choose from. Inside, you can built in.rated leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats and heated back seats, wireless phone charging, easy-to-clean rubberized floor mats, and a dual-zone climate control system.

You can also choose to upgrade from the 7-inch infotainment screen to a 13.4-inch one that has Google built-in. You can get a 120-volt power outlet in the bed, a universal home remote, and up to 14 camera views, including a transparent view meant to make everything easier to see when you trailer. A console-mounted safe, bed view camera, and a multi-flex audio system by Kicker are just some of the other options.

All the Safety Tech

Coming in standard on all trims are safety features like an HD rear vision camera, hitch guidance, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, and auto emergency braking. There’s even Teen Driver standard if you want to teach someone to drive this monster of a truck safely. Optional upgrades can get you rear cross-traffic alert, hill descent control, a trailer blind side zone alert, and more.
