New For 2025
For 2025, the Chevrolet Tahoe gets a fresh look with updated styling and a revamped dashboard featuring a standard 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen and an 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster. While the V-8 engine options carry over, the optional diesel inline-six gets a boost to 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque—gains of 38 horsepower and 35 pound-feet. New towing aids, including a trailer tire monitoring system, enhance safety and convenience. Chevy has also refined the Tahoe’s suspension for added comfort and made air springs available on the RST trim, previously exclusive to Z71 and High Country models. Fresh wheel designs, including massive 24-inch options, complete the upgrade.

Engine, Performance & Fuel Economy
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe offers three engine choices to match a variety of driving needs. Standard options include a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 and a more powerful 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V-8, both paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, with all-wheel drive available for added traction.
For those seeking efficiency and torque, the available 3.0-liter diesel inline-six now generates 305 horsepower and a hefty 495 pound-feet of torque. This engine also uses the 10-speed automatic and is offered across all trim levels.
The off-road-focused Tahoe Z71 adds serious capability with a two-speed transfer case, all-terrain tires on 20-inch wheels, and underbody skid plates. It also features an available air suspension system that can raise or lower the vehicle's ride height for better ground clearance or easier loading. This adjustable suspension is also offered on RST and High Country models.
The new Tahoe offers impressive towing power alongside spacious seating for up to eight passengers—or nine with the available front bench seat. When equipped with rear-wheel drive and the standard 5.3-liter V-8 engine, the Tahoe can tow up to 8,400 pounds, rivaling some full-size pickup trucks. Opting for the more powerful 6.2-liter V-8 lowers the maximum towing capacity slightly to 8,300 pounds, while models with the diesel engine can tow up to 8,200 pounds.
The EPA hasn’t published fuel economy estimates for the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe yet, but they’re likely similar to last year’s ratings. In 2024, the diesel-powered Tahoe was the most fuel-efficient, earning 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The standard 5.3-liter V-8 offered slightly better city fuel economy than the optional 6.2-liter V-8, though both engines were rated up to 20 mpg on the highway
Interior & Comfort
The Chevrolet Tahoe’s spacious interior offers a generous amount of room, making it feel far larger than mid-size SUVs. Three rows of seats come standard, and the second-row seats slide back and forth for added flexibility, allowing adults to sit comfortably in the third row. The wide center console has ample space for phones, drinks, and personal items, while a large bin under the center armrest can hold a purse or small backpack.
Base LS models are simple, but mid-range and upper trims add premium features like a power rear liftgate, second-row captain’s chairs, and a power-adjustable steering column. The luxurious High Country trim includes genuine wood accents, perforated leather seats, and exclusive interior color options. Thanks to its independent rear suspension, the Tahoe also offers a low, flat cargo floor, expanding to 123 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.
